High Pile Rugs
High Pile Rugs: Soft Landing, Big Statement
Want that cozy, sink-in-and-stay-awhile feeling underfoot? Our high pile rugs, especially those sourced from the Beni Ourain traditions of the Atlas Mountains, deliver comfort, warmth, and irresistible softness. These are the ultimate in tactile luxury, perfect for laid-back lounging and grounding minimalist spaces.
What is High Pile?
High pile rugs typically have a pile height over ½ inch, giving them a lush, thick texture. Many of ours are handwoven from highland wool by artisans in Morocco, using traditional techniques passed down for generations. You'll often find geometric or abstract patterns in neutral tones-elegant and earthy.
Best Places to Use High Pile Rugs
-
Bedrooms: Underfoot indulgence that makes getting out of bed a little easier.
-
Living Rooms: A soft layer that invites relaxation-perfect for low-profile coffee tables or floor seating.
-
Reading Nooks: Create instant coziness in quiet corners or tucked-away spaces.
-
Nurseries: Wool shag adds a soft, cozy layer to the room.
Bathrooms: A soft landing for bare feet beside the vanity, with a cozy layer between you and cold tile in winter. Choose a spot away from direct shower spray and let the rug dry fully if it gets damp.
Hallways: Bring softness, texture, and warmth to everyday paths through your home. Allow enough clearance for doors and pair with a properly fitted, non-slip rug pad to help keep the rug in place.
Care Considerations
High pile rugs bring extra softness and an insulating layer to cold floors. Wool styles are naturally odor-resistant, too. Vacuum gently using a method suited to the rug, blot spills promptly, and follow its individual care instructions. In bathrooms, keep the rug away from standing water and allow it to dry fully if damp. A properly fitted, non-slip rug pad helps keep it in place.
