Hand-knotted in Morocco’s Atlas Mountains 30–40 years ago, Avalon is a one-of-a-kind vintage wool rug with a bold checkerboard design and an unmistakably playful spirit.

A hand-drawn ivory grid holds shifting blocks of black, navy, hot pink, turquoise, cobalt blue, golden yellow, orange, and green. The colors change in density across the surface, creating a lively rhythm that feels spontaneous rather than strictly repeated.

Although decades old, Avalon’s graphic composition feels remarkably contemporary. Irregular squares, visible changes in texture, and gently uneven edges preserve the individual decisions of its Amazigh maker and give the rug its singular character.
